Sacrament Preparation
Students at St. Mark Catholic School receive their preparation to receive the sacraments through the school, in partnership with St. Mark Catholic Church. Because students receive religion every day as one of our core subjects, they will not need to attend a faith formation program at St. Mark Catholic Church, unless they are a special case*.
However, because of our partnership with the parish, students still need to be registered for sacrament prep through the church if they are in a sacrament year (2nd grade for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion or 8th grade for Confirmation)
Registrations for both Confirmation, First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion:
Go to the St Mark Catholic Church website:
https://www.stmarknc.org/ff-registration
Start the registration process by clicking on the Ministry Platform.
- You will input your information. If you don't do this first part, your information might not be saved to register.
- Then click on the registration where you will answer a few questions. You will be directed to go to the SMCS for either First Holy Communion or Confirmation. Do not register under the Faith Formation registration, since we have separated registrations for the school and the parish because of the number of children.
- Please make sure you fill in all the information, especially when it comes to the names (mother's maiden name too).
- The final part is to pay the $60 sacramental fee (this is for each child you are registering)
*Special cases might include non-Catholic students who wish to become Catholic with their parents' permission, baptized Catholics who are older than 2nd grade but have not yet received First Holy Communion, non-baptized individuals who wish to come into the church, etc. In these special cases, St. Mark Catholic Church has special classes to guide you depending on your specific case. Please review the church's faith formation information to understand the OCIA program for children and teens to find out if registration is right for your family.
In all circumstances, St. Mark Catholic School is always here to assist you along your family's faith journey.
