Birthday Books
Volunteers coordinate the Birthday Books program, where families donate funds so a book may be purchased in their child’s name. The child’s name and birthdate appear on the inside cover. Chairperson and committee members also coordinate seasonal “birthday” parties for children who have purchased books.
Book Fair
Volunteers assist in implementing a Fall and Spring book fair. The chairpersons work with the librarians to run the event, which includes coordinating with the book company, communicating the sale to the school, setting up and scheduling volunteers.
Grade Sponsored Bake Sales
Volunteers assist with each grade-sponsored bake sale. Baked goods are held during lunch to raise money for class initiatives. Chairs help Room Parents coordinate the bake sales.
Fall Fundraising: This year based on your feedback from our PTO survey you have voted on a Direct Donation. Our goal is to raise $15,000. We will be kicking this off at Open House. Please take notice of the hot pink signs around the school.
Family Fun Nights
Volunteers set up fundraising nights with area restaurants. The chairperson coordinates the evening with the restaurant, communicates to the school family and schedules volunteers to assist as needed.
Lion’s Share
Our major capital campaign fundraiser kicks off near Labor Day with funds directed towards goals voted on by the parents in a Spring survey. Lion’s Share is a straight donation fundraiser with the proceeds benefiting the students in the current school year. Incentive prize give-a-ways are held throughout the campaign with grand prize drawings during Bingo Night, in early October. Volunteers solicit incentive prizes, keep records, fulfill ticket orders and advertise the fundraiser.
Painless Fundraisers
The chairperson coordinates many corporate programs that reward participation, such as “BoxTops for Education,” Harris Teeter “Together in Education,” Target, Bi-Lo, Office Depot, Campbell’s Soup Labels and printer cartridge recycling. Last year Painless Fundraisers earned over $18,000.
Used Uniform Sales
Volunteers coordinate the sale of gently used uniforms periodically throughout the year.
