Administration and Volunteers Committee |
|
The Administration and Volunteers Committee includes the following:
Art Volunteers
Volunteers assist in the art room with grades K-2. Volunteers work with the children in executing their projects. It is a nice way to see your child and get to know some of his/her classmates while volunteering your time.
Cafeteria Volunteers
Volunteers assist in serving lunch to the students. The schedule requires a biweekly commitment, with each shift lasting for approximately 2 hours. This is a great way to volunteer your time and get to see your child outside of the classroom setting!
Carpool Coordinator
The committee chairperson assists families in need of arranging a carpool on an ongoing basis throughout the school year.
Computer Volunteers
Volunteers assist the computer teacher in the computer lab on a regularly scheduled basis for grades K-2.
Health Room Helpers
Volunteers assist with various activities throughout the school year that help promote good health for the Saint Mark School Community, such as vision screenings for students, coverage for the health room in the absence of the nurse, administrative assistance in the health room, etc.
Library Volunteers
Volunteers are responsible for checking books in and out of the library, shelving books and assisting children with selections when needed. This committee may also require various special projects such as book displays, cutting out artwork, etc.
Lost and Found
Volunteers organize the Lost and Found closet on a rotating schedule. This entails returning items with names on them to the rightful owner, as well as helping to organize the donation of unclaimed items to a charity twice a year.
Publicity
Volunteers are needed to facilitate contact with various news sources to promote awareness of St. Mark school functions and activities.
School Directory
Volunteers assist the chairperson with organizing the school directory after printing, usually during the September timeframe. This requires minimal time commitment and is a great activity for someone unable to commit to a regular volunteer schedule
Spirit Store
The committee chairperson and volunteers provide a variety of items for sale with the St. Mark name and/or logo.
Thursday Packets
Volunteers work on a rotating schedule of four people per week to complete this task. The responsibilities include: putting informational letters in a specific order, placing them in each family’s communication envelope and then distributing them in each teacher’s mailbox. This is a vital task necessary for maintaining the communication between the school and the families!
Website Coordination
Volunteers are needed to facilitate the gathering and transfer of information from teachers and other sources to the school web master for ongoing updates to the Saint Mark School website.
