Birthday
Books - Chairperson:
Susan Lorch
This committee coordinates the Birthday Books program, in which families
send a donation and a book is purchased in their child’s name. The
child’s name and birthdate appear on the inside cover. Chairperson
and committee members also coordinate seasonal “birthday” parties
for children who have purchased books.
Book
Fair - Chairs:
Michele Kocher & Kim Mastrone
The chairpersons work with the librarians to run a spring and a fall
book fair. This includes coordinating with the book company, communicating
the
sale to the school, setting up and scheduling volunteers.
Grade Sponsored Bake Sales - Chairperson: Debbie Fishbaugh
Each grade takes turns selling baked goods at lunch to raise money
for class initiatives. Chairs help Room Parents coordinate the bake
sales.
Gift Wrap Sale - Chairs: Lucy Thomasson & Terri Murphy
One of our two major fundraisers, the Gift Wrap sale funds most of
the ongoing PTO activities that enhance student life. The chairs
coordinate the sale with the vendor and school, and organize volunteers
to help
tally and distribute orders. This fundraiser kicks off at Open House
and concludes
in mid-October with gift wrap delivery.
Family Fun Nights - Chair: Tammy Gambino
This committee sets up fundraising nights with area restaurants.
The chairperson coordinates the evening with the restaurant, communicates
to the school
family and schedules volunteers to assist as needed.
Lion’s
Share - Chairs: Claudia Tebbitts & Kathie Fisher
Our major capital campaign fundraiser kicks off near Labor Day with funds
directed towards goals voted on by the parents in a spring survey. Lion’s
Share is a straight donation fundraiser with the proceeds benefiting
the students in the current school year. Incentive prize give-a-ways
are held throughout the campaign with grand prize drawings at Bingo Night
in early October. Volunteers solicit incentive prizes, keep records,
fulfill tickets and advertise the fundraiser.
Painless Fundraisers - Chairs: Amy Marin & Genia Harmon
The chairperson coordinates many corporate programs that reward
participation, such as “BoxTops for Education,” Harris
Teeter “Together
in Education,” Target, Bi-Lo, Office Depot, Campbell’s
Soup Labels and printer cartridge recycling. Last year Painless
Fundraisers
brought in over $18,000!
MACS Education Foundation Phon-a-thon
Volunteers come together at the Pastoral Center for 3 hours to
call MACS families and solicit support for the annual giving
campaign. The proceeds
from the campaign fund many valuable programs at each school,
including teacher grants, Junior Achievement Exchange City,
spiritual development
and more.

periodically throughout the year. Market Day - Chairperson: Open
