More than 70 St. Mark families and staff came together on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Northstone Country Club for the 1at Annual St. Mark Casino Night.

A purely social event hosted by the PTO, the evening kicked-off at the Registration table where attendees were greeted by volunteers Mary Karam and Leigh Marr who were handing out envelopes with everything needed for a Las Vegas experience.

Once inside the ballroom, people could try their hand at Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Poker and Plinko. Gamers played for casino chips that could be traded in for raffle tickets. The raffle tickets could then be deposited for a chance to win items from a huge selection of prizes: Pathers gear, jewelry, vacations, gift cards and even a new flat screen HDTV.

In between gambling there were passed hors d’oeuvres, a carving station and an extensive dessert table. A DJ rounded out the fun and there was plenty of dance floor fun to go around. “Honestly, it was like being at a college informal where all of your school friends are there having a good time,” said Amy Burger. “We had so much fun…I can’t wait to go again next year!”

A big thank you goes out to all of the people who helped to make the 1st Annual St. Mark Casino night a huge success, especially organizers Kileen Scholl, Robin Weyrens and Tammie Filiault. It also would not have happened without all of the people who came out to support the event, all of the volunteers who worked the event and especially all of the individuals and businesses who donated prizes.
